LP Animal duds

(MR 85-2)(no labels)(MR 85-2 A/B) picture disc

No cover. Front picture: red and black draw of early Stones live. Back picture: small shot of Andrew Oldham + track listing.

A 01 vg- mono Rolling Stones () Not fade away [1964.04.26 London]

A 02 vg- mono Rolling Stones () I just wanna make love to you [1964.04.26 London]

A 03 vg- mono Rolling Stones () I'm alright [1964.04.26 London]

A 04 vg+ stereo Bo and Peep () Young love

A 05 vg+ stereo Cleo () To know him is to love him

A 06 vg+ stereo Jeannie and the Redheads () Animal duds

A 07 vg+ stereo Andrew Oldham Orchestra () I get around

A 08 vg+ stereo Andrew Oldham Orchestra () Save it for me

B 01 vg+ stereo Andrew Oldham Orchestra () Then he kissed me

B 02 vg+ stereo Andrew Oldham Orchestra () Do wah diddy diddy

B 03 vg+ stereo Andrew Oldham Orchestra () My boy lollipop

B 04 vg+ stereo Andrew Oldham Orchestra () It's yourself

B 05 vg+ stereo Andrew Oldham Orchestra () There are but for seasons to every year

B 06 vg- mono Rolling Stones () Everybody needs somebody to love ~ Pain in my heart [1965.04.11 London]

B 07 vg- mono Rolling Stones () Around and around [1965.04.11 London]

B 08 vg- mono Rolling Stones () The last time [1965.04.11 London]

B 09 vg- mono Rolling Stones () Everybody needs somebody to love [1965.04.11 London]

Comment: This is, in my opinion, the "rip off of the year". I let you imagine the sound of the NME Pop Poll recordings - they're even worse than what you can imagine! Concerning the Andrew Loog Oldham Orchestra recordings: sound is vg+ stereo but this is official material and the participation of the Stones is very doubtful for most of the titles.

LP El Mocambo

()(black and white labels)(RS 377-A Let the good times roll! / RS 37.-B The greatest R + R band in the world!) green and black and blue vinyl

Color laminated cover. Front: Mick and Keith sharing the same microphone in 1975 or 1976. Back: lilac with a large black and white shot (taken from the back side of the 12" single "Time is on my side") + track listing in red

Recording: B 03-05 taken from an acetate with crackles but NOT copied from previous bootlegs. Cuts between A 01/02, A 03/04, B 02/03, B03/04 (two cuts) and B 04/05. These cuts show that the track order listed in "Collectors' file II" are most probably wrong.

A 01 exc- stereo () Worried about you

A 02 exc- stereo () Crackin' up

A 03 exc- stereo () Let's spend the night together (incomplete)

A 04 exc- stereo () Route 66

B 01 exc- stereo () Hand of fate

B 02 exc- stereo () Around and around

B 03 exc- stereo () Little red rooster

B 04 exc- stereo () Dance little sister

B 05 exc- stereo () Route 66

Note: Part of the words before "Crackin' up" also used on "Love you live". "Crackin' up" shortened at two places (on "Love you live"). All songs from the acetate have (in contrast to the EP "El Mocambo") shorter or longer parts of audience noises before and after. Words after "Little red rooster" used after "Mannish boy" on "Love you live". Words after "Dance little sister" used before "Around and around" on "Love you live". Conclusion: Some work for Shubi!

Comment: Surely one of the best bootlegs ever! AN ABSOLUTE MUST FOR EVERYONE!

LP Happy

(ABC Records)(white labels. Side A/B)(NEBRASKA MAGNUM 1A / no matrix on side B) black vinyl

Black and white insert cover. Front: white with green stamp "The Rolling Stones". Back: black and white picture of Keith and poem by Patti Smith + track listing

A 01 vg++ mono (01:53) Not fade away [outtake (CF123 or BBC)]

A 02 exc stereo (02:09) Fortune teller [legal, version 1 or 2]

A 03 vg stereo (02:20) Looking tired [outtake (CF527)]

A 04 vg mono (02:27) Have you seen your mother, baby, standing in the shadow [instrumental outtake (CF604)]

A 05 vg+ mono (05:20) Sympathy for the Devil [outtake (CF695) version 18]

A 06 exc stereo (02:38) Shattered [promo (CF1192) edited legal version]

B 01 vg++ stereo (05:25) Beast of burden [outtake () version 1 or 2]

B 02 exc stereo (04:07) Emotional rescue [promo (CF1290) edited legal version 3]

B 03 exc stereo (04:28) Dance [promo () instrumental]

B 04 exc stereo (03:50) She was hot [promo (CF1572) edited legal version 3]

B 05 g stereo (02:37) Too much blood (incomplete) [outtake (CF1561) version 1]

Comment: All in all this is a good album, offering a few legal promo versions for the price of a bootleg instead of spending a lot of money for expensive rare promo records. I just regret the sound of "Looking tired" - this stereo version is widely circulating on tape in exc stereo quality.

LP He's the boss

Black and white insert cover. Front: white with green stamp "The Rolling Stones". Back: picture of Mick as a woman + poem by Patti Smith + track listing.

Remake (?) of

= LP Happy!

(ABC Records)(white labels. Side A/B)(NEBRASKA MAGNUM 1A / no matrix on side B) black vinyl

Note: Both editions, "Happy!" and "I hope ya like dis one", were released at the same time so it's not very sure which record is the remake of which - if at all: maybe both records can be considered as originals...

Comment: On this edition the bootleggers explain they're stopping their illegal activities - they've got enough money? If someday ABC Records decides to come back into business I hope they'll try to have better pressing, better tapes and change insert covers into real covers. After all we pay enough money for these fucxking records!

3LP It's only rockn roll

()(old "Instant Analysis" labels)(TOTA 1975-A/B/C/D/E/F) records 1 and 3 in blue vinyl, record 2 in red vinyl

A 04 vg+ mono () Just my imagination (running away with me)

B 03 vg- mono () Let me go

B 04 vg+ mono () Time is on my side

B 05 vg mono () Tumbling dice

B 06 vg mono () She's so cold

Comment: Despite the mediocre sound quality of some tracks this picture disc is the most beautiful item I've ever seen. This is an item you don't have to listen to, all you can do is to look at it and look at it again - I've never seen something like this! Recommended, even to people who HATE bootlegs! Just impossible to explain with words!!!

Comment: The songs on this record are all copied from "Goin'... mad and wild". The order of the songs has been changed bt it is still the same stuff. Though, the cover is far better. If you don't already have "Goin'... mad and wild", this record is for you. Otherwise, let it be.
