Biographie
Nico Brina begann 1978 Klavier zu spielen - nach fünf Monaten Klavierunterricht begann er sich selber den Rock'n'Roll draufzuschaffen und war 1984 Mitbegründer der Rock'n'Roll-Gruppe Jive Boys. Ab 1988 begann er auch als Einzelkünstler aufzutreten und besuchte 1990 ein Jahr lang die Jazzschule Bern.
Seit 1993 ist Nico Brina mit seiner Boogie Woogie-Show mit einem Schlagzeuger unterwegs und gibt jährlich rund 100 Auftritte, u. a. auch schon in Santo Domino (Dominikanische Republik), Almaty (Kasachstan) und and er Olympiade 2004 in Athen. Er hatte inzwischen unzählige Auftritte u. a. mit dem Golden Gate Quartett, ausserdem in Fernsehsendungen wie Top of Switzerland, Hopp de Bäse extra und Prix Walo Gala. 1995 erhielt er den kleinen Prix Walo in der Sparte "Special act".
Nico Brina gilt zudem als schnellster Boogie Woogie-Klavierspieler der Welt und wird gelegentlich auch als "King of Boogie" betitelt. Seine 608 Einzelanschläge im 1/8-Takt in einer Minute mit einer Hand wurden 1996 ins Guinness Buch der Rekorde eingetragen.
