Biographie
Flame Dream erhielten bereits nach ihrem ersten Album Calatea (1978) einen Vertrag mit der bekannten Plattenfirma Vertigo Records. Zwischen 1979 und 1983 war die Gruppe mehrfach in der Schweiz auf Tournee. Ihr drittes Album Out in the dark (1980) gilt als Höhepunkt ihres musikalischen Schaffens. Ihr fünftes Album Travaganza (1983) wurde von der kleinen Plattenfirma Aura auch in Grossbritannien vertrieben.
Klanglich wurden Flame Dream wegen ähnlichem Gesang, Flöten und Keyboards mit den frühren Genesis (mit Peter Gabriel) verglichen. Als Besonderheit verzichtete die Gruppe schon ab dem zweiten Album auf die Gitarre, stattdessen dominierten Keyboard und Rhythmus den Sound.
